Oatmeal Macaroons

Featuring:

A family favorite from p. 444 of the New York Cookbook
 

In large bowl, blend these ingredients:
1 c. sugar

1 c. br. sugar, packed

1 c. solid Crisco, melted

2 lg. eggs, beaten  

Add these to above mixture:
1 c. shredded coconut

1 t. vanilla  In medium bowl, mix these:

1 c. flour (all purpose)

4 c. rolled oats

1 t. b. soda

1/2 t. salt

Add dry mixture (1 c. at a time) to creamed mixture until batter is very stiff.  Drop by teaspoonful 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheet.  Bake 375 12-14
mins.  Makes 72.
